Building Blocks, Pt. 6 is the last scheduled EP in this series. The first one coming out all the way back in September 2020. There have been occasions over the last couple of years when I’ve produced material that sounded some distance from the sonority of the albums I was releasing at the time (Hall of Mirrors, Battery Life etc) and I even toyed with the idea of launching this material under another name. However on reflection, these tunes sound just as much like me as anything else I’ve produced, and I now clearly see their importance as ‘building blocks’ material.

In years gone by, whenever exploring electronic music I would express my contention to those that would listen that some music ‘got you high’ but didn’t feed you once you achieved that state of mind. You might find me after a long night dancing in a warehouse, curled up on my sofa at home listening to Bach or Shostakovich, finding soul food and musical architecture in their music to bridge that gap between euphoria and fulfillment. I have always been of a mind to bridge that gap myself when producing my own music and perhaps this is another humble attempt at fulfilling that same brief.

Magic in its purest form. I love Floating Points, I love Pharoah Sanders, I love The London Symphony Orchestra. It's a match made in heaven, and the result is absolutely gorgeous. I have loved this record since its release, and realized I don't own it for some reason. So its time to change that. 9.5/10 honestly could become a 10/10 on an indepth vinyl relisten. angrypizza98
