During the making of Battery Life I mused a lot on the question of what memory is in it’s purest form and the value of letting our brains remember without the aid of constant archiving, photographing, videoing etc. For 'Fragmented Recall’ I wanted to see what happened to my recollection of ‘Battery Life’ after a period of starving my ears of it’s contents; and so after about four months of not listening to it at all, I teased myself with a few audio snippets from the album (individual parts and sounds) and composed new music from scratch using them as inspiration and starting points. In all cases, despite containing audio references to the originals, I found myself composing entirely new pieces, the result being' Fragmented Recall’...an album of memories directly connected to those of it’s cousin 'Battery Life' but from the viewpoint of time passed, forgotten details and adjusted perspectives.
